Anyone who hasn't been invited to a beta has nothing to open in it, since it only installs builds developers share by email or public link.
TestFlight is Apple's app for trying beta versions of apps and App Clips before they reach the App Store. Developers invite testers by email or through a public link, and TestFlight installs the build, shows what the developer would like tested and lets you send feedback. While you test, Apple collects crash logs and usage information and sends them, with any feedback you submit, to the developer, who may use them to improve the app. Apple may also use crash logs and usage information to improve its own products. Instructions and details on how your data is handled are at testflight.apple.com.
Version 4.4.1 (22 October) added support for iPhone Duo, its release notes say, alongside stability improvements and bug fixes. Apple hasn't shown the Duo layout, so the picture here is its iPad layout.
