About
Built for both screens.
Duo Registry is a small, hand-picked registry of iPhone Duo apps: not every app that happens to run on it, just the ones that make the fold worth having.
How an app gets picked
Every app is picked by hand, going on how it is built today and on what Apple and its maker have said on the record about the Duo. It has to be well made, straight about what it costs, and have a real reason to be on a phone that opens. Most apps we look at don’t make it.
Until the iPhone Duo is in people’s hands, most layouts can’t be confirmed, so each app says which it is: Duo-native when Apple or its maker has confirmed a real two-screen layout, Scaled up when it is known to simply stretch across the fold, and Unverified until one of those is on the record. Once the Duo is out, we’ll try each app on it and update the labels; the Duo support tracker dates every label and every change. Every app is on the homepage, A to Z, or you can filter them by price and Duo support.
An honest take on each
Every listing says why it’s here, and who it’s not for. No app is right for everyone, and knowing when to skip one is as useful as knowing when to get it. The App Store facts on each page (rating, age, size) are dated, because they change.
Listing is free
Nobody pays to be listed, and nobody can pay to change what we write about an app or where it shows up. Paid featured spots are paused for now.
Not Apple
Duo Registry is independent and isn’t affiliated with Apple. App icons and screenshots belong to their developers.
