Why it's here
Not for
It is for following elite tournaments, not for playing chess yourself, and the extras sit behind a Watch Chess Pro subscription.
About Watch Chess
Watch Chess is built for following the world's top chess tournaments as they happen. Browse live and recent events, swipe between games, follow several boards at once and check pairings, standings, results and real-time clocks. Alerts can cover round starts, results and highlighted moments such as blunders, brilliant moves, forced mates and time pressure. Live Activities show a game's board, last move and clocks on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Finished games get a Stockfish 19 report with accuracy, move quality and turning points, and there is a dedicated Apple Watch app. Watch Chess Pro is a subscription.
Version 13.1.3 (3 November) brought bug fixes; its release notes don't mention the Duo. Its maker's site shows a live game on the left of the open Duo, with an evaluation bar, the board, both grandmasters and their clocks, and on the right a Games tab with four more boards from the same round.
