About Signal
Signal is a private messenger run by a non-profit. Texts, voice messages, photos, videos, GIFs and files travel over your data connection with end-to-end encryption from the open-source Signal Protocol, so neither Signal nor anyone else can read them. It makes encrypted voice and video calls, group calls of up to 50 people and group chats of up to 1,000, with admin controls over who can post. Stories disappear after 24 hours, with settings for who sees each one. Signal is funded by donations rather than advertisers or investors.
